Dr. Don Livermore
Our Master Blender got his start as a microbiologist at the historic Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd. distillery before attaining his Ph.D. in Brewing and Distilling and assuming his current role in early 2012. Don’s commitment to quality, care, and craftsmanship can be tasted in every bottle of J.P. Wiser’s whisky today. He’s the central nervous system of our operation and he’s constantly checking in on every step of our process to ensure that the whisky that goes in our bottles is worthy of carrying the J.P. Wiser’s name.
Process Engineer, Grain Ops
Kristy is our gatekeeper. From making the connections to the farmers providing our grains, to determining how much grain we need, to even smelling each batch by hand before it’s accepted into our facility, Kristy is on the front line of quality at J.P. Wiser’s.
Han – a trained mechanical engineer – is the man tasked with making the choices that will guarantee each batch of distillate is exactly what our team needs. As he tends to the mash in our brew house and adds the yeast, he’s responsible for creating most of the fruity, floral flavours that our distiller and Master Blender get to work with.
Director of Manufacturing and Maintenance Ops
Neil, our head of distilling, takes the flavours that our key grains and yeast has produced and puts a finer point on them through different methods of distillation. He has to choose the right boiling points for each mash to get the flavours he’s trying to achieve. Being so precise at this stage in our process is what separates J.P. Wiser’s from the average whisky.
Supervisor, Maturing Warehouse
Donald is a man of patience. The man in charge of our vast inventory operates in a ‘hurry up and wait’ mode every day. Donald oversees our vast warehouse of barrels in various stages of maturity, and is accountable for every single drop of whisky in our facility.
Quality Assurance Manager
Overseeing our rigorous testing process is a heavy task for anyone. Luckily, Graham Young is up to the challenge. He and his team are relied on to make sure that over 150,000,000 L of whisky that goes into our bottles every year, is worthy of the J.P. Wiser’s name.
